I'm with YOU - my parents in Mahopac, NY would not have hesitated to kick us out of the car and drive off, if only for a few minutes. But the fact is, we didn't DARE fight like it sounds these two brats (assuming they are brats, somehow I get the idea they are) were fighting.
They say those us w/no kids have no right to comment on stories like this.
I say it's a sad state of affairs that parents care more about being the kids' best friend than their parent.
And I say GOOD FOR THIS WOMAN for doing what she did. Hope she doesn't suffer too harsh a penalty.

While I agree that sometimes we as a society coddle our children too much and they get away with bad behavior as a result, leaving a 10 or 12 year old child to walk three miles home is not only stupid, it is dangerous. As we have well seen many times over, it only takes a predator seconds to get away with a child. It happens under some parents noses, while they are turned away or preoccupied with something else. The length of time it takes to walk three miles is time enough to create a lifetime of anguish over a few minutes of anger at a situation.
